Empowering Rural Communities for Sustainable Lifestyles
Since our formation in 2009, Benevolent Rural Alliance for Cultural and Environmental Strategies (B.R.A.C.E.S.) has been dedicated to improving the lives of rural populations. Our organization was born out of the ongoing recovery efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, when agencies and organizations working with rural communities came together to develop strategies for addressing the unique needs of these populations.
At B.R.A.C.E.S., our goal is to develop innovative strategies that can help rural communities and their residents obtain and maintain self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyles. We firmly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and lead fulfilling lives, regardless of their geographical location.
These are the core principles driving Benevolent Rural Alliance for Cultural and Environmental Strategies (B.R.A.C.E.S.), a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to making a lasting difference in rural populations.
At B.R.A.C.E.S., we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to lead a self-sufficient and sustainable life. That's why our mission is to impact, empower, and improve rural populations through innovative strategies and comprehensive support. With a track record of success in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we have been at the forefront of recovery efforts, collaborating with agencies and organizations to address the needs of rural communities.
Our dedicated team has assisted over 200 families with critical support, such as HUD-funded Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing grants for St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes, as well as the Emergency Shelter Grant for the City of Hammond. In partnership with the Florida Parish Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (FPVOAD), we have extended our reach to clients affected by Hurricane Isaac in Livingston and St. John the Baptist Parishes.
Led by our Co-Founder and Executive Director, Toni Jackson, B.R.A.C.E.S. has garnered recognition for our effective strategies, and we have been invited by several public and private organizations to share our expertise with the Northshore parishes of Louisiana.
Join us in our mission to impact, empower, and improve rural populations. Together, we can build a brighter future for all.
